Assistant Coach/Pitchers
Mary Mckinney

Hello! My name is Coach Mary (McKinney) and I am happy to be joining the Newport family. I grew up in Bellevue having attended elementary through high school, and later graduating from Interlake. I played softball and basketball throughout high school eventually playing basketball at the collegiate level. After receiving my degree in Recreation Management, I soon realized my passion for working with youth. I have worked for organizations such as the YMCA, Boys and Girls Club, City of Bellevue and Seattle Parks and Recreation. I currently work for the school district as a Para Educator at Chinook Middle School and am currently coaching girls basketball for a local AAU program. I have been coaching youth and adult sports for over 25 years. In the late 90’s I pursued managing, coaching and playing Women’s Slow pitch softball and playing competitively for the next 15 seasons. In 2014 I finally “hung up my cleats” to focus on coaching and training basketball athletes.. On my free time I love to travel, enjoy outdoor recreation, play sports, play with animals and most importantly spend time with my family.

I am super excited to be a new member of the Newport Fastpitch program and am looking forward to a fun and successful season. I look forward to formally meeting everyone.
